Charity Event 22nd October

A charity that I am a little involved with, Martha Trust Hereford, is raising funds for its new care home so I decided to gather up some support from the Tripoli community.

I organised a recital and dinner at my place, as well as a raffle which was open to all with some pretty nice prizes (signed poster of Robert Pattinson, free scuba dives, holiday camp for kids, family photo, dinner for 2 at a new restaurant in Tripoli...:) There also was a Market Stall where I sold marmalade, extra virgin olive oil from Zuzu's farm, soaps that Beth had made and other odds and ends that I had made.

The evening went well - everyone seemed to enjoy the recital, the caterers did a good job, the market stall was wiped out (I was lucky to have had the help of one of my guests, Kira, with making the jars look pretty) and the weather held out, despite the annoying wind which kept blowing out all the candles.

All-in-all we raised almost 3000 pounds so I am very happy with the result!
